Michael Stone

Michael Stone (a.k.a. The Reverend DJ Divine) spent over 20 years as a corporate consultant in large organizations throughout North America and Europe. His mission was to bring heart and meaning to the workplace through open authentic communication. After thousands of hours of teaching, training, consulting, and coaching he discovered that people live mostly in their thinking mind and that often their bodies are little more than vehicles to get from one place to another. "We have become a society of talking heads at a time when we need to access the ancient cellular wisdom of the heart and body."

Through his love of dance and movement he began to see the body as a vast temple, a sacred storehouse of ancient wisdom and healing energy. Working with movement pioneer Gabrielle Roth, he discovered the 5 Rhythms, energetic maps of consciousness that, as she says, “allow us to turn our suffering in to art and our art into awareness.” It is the presence of this awareness that provides mental, physical, and emotional healing.

Adding the 5 Rhythms, Soul Motion and Trance Dance to his extensive training as an organizational development and behavioral consultant, Gestalt practioner, coach, mentor, and communications teacher, Michael has created a unique mix of movement, poetry, and dialogue designed to awaken the spirit of the dancer that lives within us all. By getting in touch with the patterns locked in our bodies we can release old habitual ways of being in the world and integrate new ways to relate to others, our communities, and ourselves. In this moving meditation we play with different rhythms in music, which can open us to the essential qualities of the spirit, many of which have been denied or forgotten since early childhood. This is a moving meditation that takes us right to the heart of what it means to be human. Mainly people come to have a rocking good time!

This experience is open to people of all ages, shapes, and sizes. There are no steps to learn and it is open to all regardless of physical condition, limitation, or experience. There is no one to keep up with, just let go and enjoy the dance; the healing comes by moving and paying attention. Michael has worked with children, adults, and seniors, as well as people with disabilities such as Alzheimer’s, Downs Syndrome, and Autism. His primary commitment is to support people in maintaining a healthy connection with their own vibrant self-expression, natural creativity, and essential joy.

Michael is also the producer / Broadcaster of Conversations on KVMR, a show which interviews leading edge thinkers in the areas of Environmental Restoration, Spiritual Fulfillment and Social Justice.
